I have a full size Golden Doodle. Will these work for his hair?
It worked for mine, but do to his thick hair, it would get caught very easily and lessen the strength of the blade.
Which pet groomer is quiet enough for a cat?
I recently used this on my sons cat. I started by just turning it on then rubbing him with it. After two days he just let me clip him. Hope this helps.
Would this work for a Standard Poodle with curly hair?
I use this on my standard poodle whom has very thick tight curls, love it. I only like the 3mm guard though . No guards for face and under belly except the one that isn't removable which I Love as well since it makes sure I don't accidentally cut anything except hair.
What do the different sizes 3,6,9,12 mean? If I only wanted to trim a bit of my dog’s hair off, which one would I use?

This depends on your pet's hair condition, there is no fixed standard.
You can adjust the blade distance of the machine and add the upper limit comb to adjust to the length suitable for your pet
Anybody that has had these for a while, do they seem durable?
Yes and with proper care and maintenance they will last a long time I had my last set almost a year before I misplaced them
How long does it take for them to get hot?
Under normal use, there will not be get hot. if working time too long - suggest pause for a period of time to continue using.can extend the service life of the clipper
